Jai Ho

If I see another men look bored and the women look heartbroken, I might be forced to quit residency to start a full time crusade for the human heart. When do we throw our hands down in disgust and say we've had enough? How miserable do we need to be before some change is stirred, and we become people who live for something besides our own pleasure?

Men, it's time you fought for the hearts of the women who sit beside you. God equipped you for battle -- not so you could compare and complain about the quality of your weapons -- but so you could fight .You feel powerless, useless and weak? When's the last time you did something for that priceless daughter who has tried so desperately to stand beside you, to encourage you, to show you the softer side of God?

Women, it's time you stopped being critical of the hearts that have yet to realize your worth. Demanding, pushing and nagging serve only to exacerbate his boredom as he tunes out all the positive things you say because they are too deeply entangled with conditions, negativities and manipulation. You feel controlling, unappreciated and hard? When's the last time you asked that man to stand up for you, rather than trying to trick him into doing it? When's the last time you really desired a demonstration of the fierce side of grace?

We are crippling each other with our ridiculous expectations and counter actions of selfishness, laziness and criticism.

Jai Ho. "May you win." -- A reference to Slumdog Millionaire.
